Job Description/Responsibilities:

This part-time position is an opportunity to help a growing non-profit build strong, sustainable and diverse sources of philanthropic funding as we expand to new markets. The Development Assistant (DA) will aid the Senior Development Officer and Director of Development by researching, summarizing, and and organizing grant funding opportunities; tracking individual donor appeals;, providing administrative support for the development team; and supporting other fundraising activities as necessary.

In this role, the Development Assistant will:

● Research new grant opportunities within our existing footprint and in states we have identified as potential new markets for our programs; preparing background information and overviews of potential funders for the Development Team.

● Occasionally assist the Senior Development Officer and Director of Development in preparing grant applications to private, corporate, and family foundations; major national banks; local foundations; and government agencies.

● Ensure that Google Drive is organized and up-to-date; preparing documents and files for Development Team members.

● Maintain the integrity of the fundraising database, including creating and updating records in Salesforce.com related to grants and individual donations

● Prepare and sending thank you letters to donors in accordance with IRS requirements.

● Record meeting minutes at weekly Development Team meetings and additional meetings as necessary; thoroughly outlining identified next steps and conducting follow-up to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner by the appropriate staff member.

● Work with the Accounting Team to keep grant agreements and purposes organized and tracking receipt of payments.

Assist Senior Development Officer and Director of Development with:

● interdepartmental communication and adherence to grants management guidelines

● additional tasks as necessary.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

● Experience with grant management and donor research preferred, though not required

● Experience using Google Drive preferred

● Experience with Salesforce preferred

● Other fundraising experience

Physical Requirements:

● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

● Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Training, and Compensation:

The Development Assistant will receive extensive training on all of Capital Good Fund’s: programs and services, fundraising goals, grants management processes, fundraising database and other software, and strategies for grant writing and research.

This is a part time 25 hour-per-week position. The hourly rate is $19.71.

In addition, the DA will receive 5 paid personal days per benefit year and 14 paid holidays including a floating holiday for your birthday!

Customer Service Representative

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Customer Service Representative is a core member of the Lending Team who reports directly to the Customer Service Specialist, whose responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Answer incoming phone calls to Good Fund’s direct line; transfer and route calls to the intended recipient, take messages, or redirect the caller.

● Answer incoming online messages through our chat service portal

● Report messages accurately on our CRM software, notifying the appropriate team member(s).

● Respond to incoming emails for the Loan Origination team’s shared email.

● Download and sort incoming client documentation; notify the appropriate team member(s). Documents may be received in person or via email.

● Practice responsible document or information sharing processes to ensure the privacy and security of our clients

● Provide prompt, friendly, courteous and empathetic customer service, to clients interested in lending services and redirect coaching or servicing questions as needed

● Pre-screen interested clients for eligibility, advise on next steps and guide them through the lending process

● Be an excellent representative of Good Fund - our mission, products, and community

● Sit at reception, greet and communicate with all clients who walk-in to the Providence office

● Other administrative tasks as needed

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

● Experience working in a fast paced environment

● Bilingual: Proficiency in Spanish/English in an verbal and written format

● Able to connect and empathize with people of diverse backgrounds

● Ability to work as part of a team with shared tasks and responsibilities

● Must be prompt and have keen attention to timeliness and responsiveness

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

● Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and financial services

● Flexibility; willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment

● Strong computer skills

● Experience with Google Suite

This position is in-person in the Providence, RI office Monday through Friday. This role follows all COVID-19 policies for public health and safety measures, including terms and conditions of employment. This role requires proof of COVID-19 vaccine. Masks are required in all shared spaces, and one will be provided at no cost to you.

This position requires tasks that involve lifting/carrying supplies such as laptops or files; walking (including stairs), standing, and sitting for lengths of time.

This position provides the ability to work a flexible schedule with some in office days and some remote days as necessary per supervisor or department head discretion.

Training and Compensation:

The Customer Service Representative will receive extensive training on all of Good Fund’s systems, policies, procedures and loan products.

This is a part-time thirty hour-per-week position. The Customer Service Representative will earn an hourly rate of $19.71/hour.

In addition, the Customer Service Representative will receive a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with dollar-for-dollar employer match of 3% of gross earnings with a minimum contribution of 1%, medical insurance with a $250/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by employer, 5 paid personal days per benefit year, 15 paid vacation days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.
