About Capital Good Fund:
Capital Good Fund (Good Fund) is a social change organization whose mission is to provide equitable financial services that create pathways out of poverty. As a nonprofit, U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we offer low-income families in Rhode Island, Delaware, and Florida one-on-one Financial & Health Coaching and personal loans of up to $20,000.
The job of the Human Resources Officer (HRO) is to strengthen the various human resource and compliance functions of Good Fund. On one hand this includes recruitment, staffing, training and performance monitoring, and on the other, research, oversight and management of our regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Spearhead the recruitment process for new hires and replacement hires
• Maintain complete and up-to-date employee handbook
• Monitor internal compliance with company policies and revisit policy language as necessary
• Monitor compliance with local, state and federal law around employment and other areas as needed.
• Coordinate delivery of employee benefits, including 401(k), medical and dental insurance
• Propose changes to employee benefits, including research on best practices and cost-benefit analysis.
• Work with supervisors to develop performance evaluation plans for individuals
Otherwise support the team and encourage an excellent office and work culture

About You:

You must:
• Have substantive experience directly recruiting, training, managing and terminating full-time staff
• Be extraordinarily detail-oriented

Preferred background or experience:
• A degree in business, law, human resource management, or equivalent experience
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish

Training and Compensation:
The HRO will receive extensive training on all of Good Fund’s recruiting, managing and operating policies and procedures, as well as on Good Fund’s products and services. The HRO will also work closely with experienced operations staff until such time as he or she is proficient in the responsibilities of the role. With this position there is significant opportunity for growth and advancement. Preferred start date is July 10, 2017.
This is a full-time, forty-hour-per-week position. The HRO will earn an annual base salary of $36,273, and five years of relevant experience will raise the base salary to $39,873. In addition, the HRO will receive a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with an employer match of 2%, medical insurance with a $250/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by employer, a RIPTA bus pass fully subsidized by employer, 5 paid sick days per benefit year, 15 paid personal days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.

Director of Finance

As a nonprofit, U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we offer low-income families in Rhode Island, Delaware, and Florida one-on-one Financial & Health Coaching and personal loans of up to $20,000.
The Director of Finance will work out of the Good Fund headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island. This position is an opportunity to help a growing nonprofit implement strong and sustainable financial management practices as we expand our loan portfolio and operations. The Director of Finance will lead the Accounting Team, and work closely with the CEO, COO and Director of Loan Servicing to manage organizational income, expenditures and cash flow. In addition, the Director of Finance will support our CEO as he works to secure the investments and loan capital necessary to sustain our operations and drive organizational growth. As our Director of Finance we’ll expect you to:

• Prepare financial statements and present to finance committee and full Board of Directors
• Oversee two full-time Accounting team members, and day-to-day accounting for the nonprofit
• Prepare appropriate period-end journal entries
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and related policies
• Develop and manage financial models
• Assist CEO and COO with strategic planning
• Prepare applications for loan capital from various funding sources, including banks, credit unions, religious endowments, and charitable foundations

About You:

• Have a Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Be expert with Microsoft Excel

• Experience managing full-time staff
• Experience with loan fund or credit union financial management

Training and Compensation:
The Director of Finance will receive comprehensive training in our bookkeeping and accounting systems and processes.

This is a full-time, forty-hour-per-week position. The Director of Finance will earn an annualized base salary of $49,099, with five years of relevant experience. Candidates with fewer than five years of relevant experience will earn $45,499. In addition, the Director of Finance will receive a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with an employer match of 2%, medical insurance with a $250/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by employer, a RIPTA bus pass fully subsidized by employer, 5 paid sick days per benefit year, 15 paid personal days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.

Development Officer

Job Description/Responsibilities:
This position is an opportunity to help a growing non-profit build strong, sustainable and diverse sources of philanthropic funding and loan capital as we expand to new markets. The Development Officer will work with the Senior Development Officer to research, organize, write, report, and follow up on grants, individual donor appeals, and other fundraising activities. In addition, the Development Officer will support our CEO as he works to secure the investments and loan capital necessary to sustain our operations and drive organizational growth.
• Research new grant opportunities, particularly in states we have identified as potential new markets for our services
• Conduct initial outreach to possible grantors and investors
• Manage the fundraising schedule, ensuring that letters of inquiry, grants, and grant reports are submitted on time
• Assist the CEO and COO in research and development efforts for new products and services.
• Prepare background information on high net-worth donor and investor prospects in advance of meetings
• Assist the Senior Development Officer in preparing, editing, and submitting grant materials
• Process incoming donations and investments
• Prepare acknowledgement and follow-up materials for donors and investors
• Work with the Systems Team and Senior Development Officer to track and report on fundraising activities
• Work with the CEO and Director of Communications to develop a quarterly newsletter for investors

The DO will work closely with experienced development staff until such time as he or she is proficient in the responsibilities of the role.
