The Capital Good Fund gave out its first loan to Eva Jimenez. Eva used the loan to apply for U.S. citizenship, and 5 months later she was sworn in as a citizen! Pictured here are Eva, along with Mollie West, Co-Executive Director of CGF. For more photos and thoughts on Eva’s swearing in ceremony, see our blog post about it. Below is a one-page profile of Eva.
Cathy used a $3,000 loan from CGF to renovate one of her Curves Gym franchises, as well as to conduct a marketing campaign and train her staff. We are excited to be working with this entrepreneurial, passionate and environmentally-conscious woman as she works to improve the health of others at the same place where she improved her own health. Enjoy her borrower profile below!
Carmen Mirabal received a $3,000 loan from Capital Good Fund to help grow her handmade, organic vegetable soap, lotion and soy candle business, called My Angel’s Call. What makes Carmen’s business special—apart from the high quality of her products—is that it is both socially and environmentally responsible. All of her products are free of animal products and are made from either organic or natural ingredients.
Ducy Corneja’s resilience and ability to triumph in the face of hardship is a big reason for her success. CGF gave Ducy a $3,000 loan to support the development of a green cleaning company—an innovative business model directly addressing how to simultaneously effect environmental, economic, and social good. Read Ducy’s borrower profile below to learn about her incredible journey and how CGF was able to help.

The Capital Good Fund made its first business loan to Nina Gauvin. Nina’s business, an Edutainment Center with Drop-Off Programs, Activity Centers, Tiny Town, Small Fitness and Room for Special Events and Birthday Parties called The Learn and Play Center, recently opened for business in Johnston, RI. Pictured here are Nina, along with Andy Posner, Co-Executive Director of CGF. CGF is thrilled to be working with Nina! Nina’s business is open from Monday to Sunday and Working Holidays. Below are pictures of Nina’s business:

CGF’s loan went specifically towards the cost of building and installing the houses and decorations seen above. Thanks to CGF’s $3,000 loan, the children that come to play and learn at Nina’s business will have a more welcoming and enriching experience, and parents will be more likely to bring their children to her business. Stay tuned for more information on Nina and her experiences with CGF!
