Building Green Connections: CGF Gala 2010
The Capital Good Fund’s first annual spring gala, held earlier this month at the scenic Waterplace Restaurant, was an outstanding success! With the help of over 190 guests, we raised $14,000 to support our innovative loan products and workshops! In attendance were community, business, and political leaders – as well as supporters of CGF from across the country.
Guests at the gala enjoyed lively jazz music from a talented local band, a silent auction and raffle, and short presentations by two entrepreneurial CGF borrowers: Nina Gauvin and Toni Lynn Bonadie. Providence Mayor and Congressional candidate David Cicilline, as well as Rhode Island Treasurer and gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio, also spoke at the event, highlighting CGF’s important work in the community and our commitment to revitalizing the state’s economy. We were also pleased to present our first annual Agent of Change Award to Professor Barrett Hazeltine for his work inspiring social entrepreneurs – both from Brown University and farther afield.
A big thanks to the many guests and supporters who made this event such an incredible success! We look forward to seeing you next year!
